JBL Cinema SB 450 review. Decoding the sound-bar…

It’s the beginning of a new week and JustInReviews is here with the technology review of the JBL SB450 Soundbar.

      • The build:

The soundbar can be seen covered in a finely woven steel mesh and appears quite premium. Below the mesh work, are an undeclared number of 2.25-inch transducers which convey a 240 Watts of power together. There happen to be eight buttons towards the top of the gadget: two for volume control, one power button, one for source changing, one for JBL Connect, one for turning on Virtual Surround Sound, one for Bluetooth pairing and one for a feature called JBL SoundShift.

      • Features:

While it’s not exactly the all-singing, all-dancing device like a portion of its rivals, the JBL SB450 Soundbar regardless offers a collection of features worth considering.

The bar quadruples the amount of HDMI ports to a robust four, three amongst which are 2.0a/HDCP 2.2 compatible – which implies viewing 4K HDR motion pictures on the JBL is presently a thing.

The sound bar comes with a Bluetooth connection and a feature termed as JBL Connect, which facilitates sharing of your Bluetooth wireless connection with rest of the compatible products, e.g. the JBL Charge 3.

Other connections incorporate optical, 3.5 mm auxiliary and USB for firmware related updates.

The sound bar incorporates sound modes, e.g. JBL SoundShift (for switching within the TV sound and your mobile voice), Harman Volume (lessens dynamic range for hearing at night), and Harman Display Surround (for the virtual surround sound).

      • Performance:

The base-firing subwoofer can be called the set’s highlight, and reported to have conveyed profound and loud bass that was said to never have distorted or been boomy in nature. The measure of bass was sufficient to shake the walls of the room, is what the testers said and the quality was reported to be impressive. It’s not entirely about the bass, is what is being told. The soundstage was said to be good enough and the two units are said to perform the job of disturbing the sound everywhere in the room. The experience was reported to clearly miss the mark concerning a proper surround-sound setup with at least five speakers, however, comes near.
