Chinese cell phone manufacturer Xiaomi has reportedly announced its latest budget smartphone, called the Redmi 6 Pro. The handset is in the news for quite a while post its leak, uncovering their design and technical specifications.

Here’s what we know of it….

  • Display Configuration:

The phone accompanies a touchscreen display that is 5.84 inch in size and a resolution of 1080 X 2280 pixels with a PPI of 432 pixels for every inch.


  • Camera lenses:

In terms of the camera department, the Redmi 6 Pro highlights a dual camera framework towards the back side comprising of a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor having a f/2.2 aperture, 1.25um pixel size, LED flash, auto-focus phase detection plus a secondary 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor having f/2.2 aperture and 1.12um pixel size. Towards the front, it dons a 5MP selfie camera.

  • Hardware and software specifications:

This latest gadget from Xiaomi carries a 2GHz octa-core processor supported by 3GB of RAM. The phone brings in 32GB of internal memory which can be extended up to 256GB using an external microSD card.

The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo O.S. along with MIUI 9 rested on top.

  • Battery and connectivity options:

Network alternatives on the smartphone incorporate Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack with a Infrared sensor. It is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery.

  • Dimensions and weight:

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is known to weigh 178 grams and the dimensions happen to be 149.33 x 71.68 x 8.75 (height x width x thickness).

  • Pricing and release date:

The expected base price of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro in India is Rs. 10,590 and the phone could be launched here around August-September 2018.
